Cathy Prendergast

Cathy set up her leather studio in 1989 when she returned to Dundalk from London. As a designer and craftsman, Cathy creates elegant, contemporary and functional designs, inspired primarily by her passion for leather, drawing from her early training in London, Madrid and Florence. Cathy was equipped to realize the meticulous finish, refined detailing and use of exquisite quality leathers, textiles and fittings with which her name has become synonymous. A previous winner of The Showcase New Products Award and appearing on “Live at 3”. Her representation as one of Ireland’s leading handbag designers is only paralleled by her reputation as a master craftsman in leather and textile design in Ireland, USA, Japan, UK and Mexico. She came runner up in Best Manufacturing Business in the Louth County Enterprise awards in March 2008. Cathy received an award from President McAleese at Showcase 2009.
