Cross-Border Exchange 2008
Saturday 24th May 2008 - To coincide with Craft Map Open Studios Weekend.

Louth Craftmark offers you the opportunity to visit local craft studios and venues as part of Craft Map 2008. The venues we plan to visit are 5, 10, 3, 28, 18, 8 and 21 which you can read about in your copy of Craft Map 2008 (You can also visit the Craftmark.ie web site for venue information). As on previous Exchange trips the atmosphere will be lively and informal, offering you the opportunity to network with like-minded people. We hope you will join us for a very busy and interesting day.

Schedule
Depart Dundalk 9.00am / Return Dundalk 6.00pm approx
Bus will depart and return to Quayside Business Park, Mill Street, Dundalk.

Creativity and the Marketplace
Craftmark’s Product Development Project II
 
As part of the Product Development Programme, and running in tandem with the Hand Meets High Tech at Interface, Craftmark is offering a series of seminars for artists/designer/makers working in or hoping to branch into the fashion and accessories arena.

Craftmark’s Creativity and the Marketplace sessions will be run by Eddie Shanahan who has worked in the fashion, lifestyle and retail industries for over 30 years, including 9 years with the International Wool Secretariat and 10 years as Director of merchandising & Marketing at Arnotts Department Store in Dublin. Eddie started a Management Consultancy & Business Development Service in November 2005 and his clients include Allied Irish Banks, the pharmaceutical distributor Uniphar, Enterprise Ireland, Kilkenny Group, Louise Kennedy, Voya, Leitrim Design House, Dunnes Stores, Limerick School of Art & Design, Monica John shops, Penneys/Primark, Tricot Marine, Seagreen, The Cat & The Moon, Laurence Town Centre and the Paris based Irish Designer Sharon Wauchob. Eddie was heavily involved in the Louth Craftmark Fashion show in 2007 and he has a vast amount of experience in the retail sector, specialising in the fashion and craft sectors. He has large number of contacts in the Irish Fashion scene and you may know his face from the social pages of the Irish Fashion Magazines or from his consultancy spots on 'Off the Rails' on RTE.

The Creativity and the Marketplace programme will take the format of three full day seminars which will be held in the Board Room of Louth County Enterprise Board in Dundalk on May 21st, June 19th and September 3rd.
