Individual Development Fund

The purpose of this fund is to encourage individual craft makers to develop further their creative, technical and business skills.

Funds Available

The fund is used to provide assistance towards a range of purposes, including:

  • The cost of short-term advanced training

  • First time attendance at a trade fair

  • Individual programmes of research

  • Assistance to take time and/ or purchase additional equipment to develop work in new directions

Support offered would vary according to the nature of the project and the fund will only support 75% of the total project cost to the maximum of €2000.

Deadlines

Applications may be made at any time but not less than 12 weeks before the start date of the project.

Who can apply?

Craft makers who work in Co Louth and will normally be expected to have been in business for at least 3 years. You are expected to be primarily producing work, which is of your own conception, design and making. That output is mainly concerned with production kits, the assemblage or decoration of bought-in components, or conservation or restoration is not eligible.

Criteria

  • The proposal must meet the purpose of the fund

  • The artistic quality of the work as determined by the Louth Craftmark

  • The extent to which the work shows developed craft skills

  • The usefulness of the support to the applicant's creative or career development
