As an artist I create sculptures and paintings which are inspired by mythology, spirituality, nature and wildlife. There is a natural rhythm and flow throughout my artwork. It is this movement which connects my images and sculptural work together.
I predominately create my sculptures with natural materials, such as willow, found materials and feathers. I love the flow and flexibility that nature provides. More recently I have used bronze and stone. I love learning and seeing how my work evolves as I use new materials. Each material has it’s own unique way of working, responding and connecting with the creative energy, to breath life into a new piece of artwork. My intention is to allow the flow, rhythm and energy of my work to shape how the path will unfold with upcoming artworks.
I was commissioned to create several sculpture installations for ‘The Giants Lair’ Sculpture Trail in Slieve Gullion Forest Park, Newry. The work included a fairy village amongst the trees, a giant stone head and a large interactive willow sculpture.
I also facilitate creative workshops in schools and community groups, guiding children and adults to explore and enjoy their creativity, while developing a sense of connection to their surroundings and nature.
