I’m a textile artist based in Malahide, Co. Dublin. Inspired by the colours and textures of the Irish landscape and in particular seascapes, I strive to capture it’s essence in my artwork.
I’m intrigued by our ever changing skies, the ebb and flow of the water, textures on the shoreline and details like lichens, mosses and seaweeds. I love natural fabrics and work with 100% wool woven fabrics from Avoca Handweavers and Magee of Donegal. I use these traditional fabrics as a base on which to needle felt layers of fine merino wools, silk fibres and select yarns to create unique artworks that reflect my inspiration. Fine detail is added with hand stitch and beading.
I am registered with the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and have had my work selected for inclusion in DCCOI textile exhibitions at the Knitting & Stitching Show, RDS, Dublin.
