King’s Forge Glass was created by Grace Brennan, who has been running this fused glass studio in an old forge since 2011. Fused glass is made by layering specialist glass, while cold. When heated in a kiln, under very controlled conditions, the layers of glass ‘fuse’ together –hence the name. The technique is also known as kiln-formed glass. Over the years, Grace has developed a range of products, which are stocked in quality craft shops throughout the country. She makes everything from small, hanging Christmas decorations, to candleholders, bowls, platters, framed pieces, and bespoke art pieces. Everything is made by hand, so no two pieces are ever the same. Commissions are welcome.
Grace’s aim is simple: to continue to create, and to keep adding to what is a contemporary, collectible, range of colour-rich fused glass: recognised, loved, affordable art.
