Mel Bradley, award-winning textile designer has been creating luxury silk scarves/wraps and fabrics for the Fashion and Interior markets since the 1980’s.
Mel has worked with leading Irish Fashion Designers including John Rocha, Louise Kennedy, Richard Lewis and Jen Kelly, designing exclusive silks fabrics for their collections. She also created stunning fabrics for RTE’s renowned River Dance production.
Mel’s beautiful hand painted cushions, bed throws and lampshades can be seen on display in the cosmopolitan Morrison Hotel, Dublin. She won the ‘Best New Product’ and the ‘Buyers’ Choice’ awards at the Showcase exhibition in Dublin in 2006. In recent years Mel started to use combinations of fibres with her silks to create one-off “art” works for private and public commissions.
Mel is a part-time lecturer and teaches her skills to both 3rd level students as well as community groups.
Mel’s work is influenced by Japanese simplicity and the natural world which surround her.
