Clémence Prosen is a French-born Irish artist and a calm-life advocate. She is a self-taught artist. She paints mostly in oils, without using any mediums or solvents, and watercolours. Her art is inspired by the calming beauty of nature and the simple moments of life. She paints with soft brushstrokes to make the painting more soothing to the mind, and she experiments with the underlying colours on the canvas, the first background colour, to create different moods and atmospheres in the painting.
She worked as a project manager for 15 years in the corporate sector, using her creative skills in product development. In 2014, she started creating art more regularly again. She found mindfulness and peace in art, after a day of working in toxic environments.
She moved to Ireland in 2016. Her art developed quickly, inspired by the soothing Irish landscapes and the supportive art culture. She started to develop her artistic practice, in parallel with her job, and connect locally with artists and organizations to show her art online and offline. As of 2021, she focuses solely on her art.
She had her first solo shows at the Skerries Mills in 2019 and 2020. Then, she showed her paintings at the Group Exhibitions Signal Art Open 2019 & 2022, Culture Night Samelah – Le Cheile 2021 and the Berkeley Gallery in 2022. She also had successful art exhibitions at the Red Stables – Clontarf in 2022 and 2023.
Clémence wishes to inspire you and people all over the world to live a calmer and more balanced life. She advocates well-being and mental health by creating meaningful art through different connected media.
