Gillian Black

I am a conceptual artist using a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to photography – digital and analogue, drawing, oil painting, printing, video, sculpture, glass, silver smithing, digital fabrication and technology. People are the source of my inspiration. Having completed my Honours Degree back in May 2022, I have continued to explore the subjectivity of ‘Woman’ (Universal Woman). This is an extension of my thesis ‘Woman is greater than the subjective sum of all her parts’.

In addition to my artistic practice, I am also an educator working in Adult Education, Community Education and Prosper.
I currently use art and visual aids to teach Literacy Through Art, Computers, Internet Skills level 3, Creative Writing, ChatGPT, Sustainable Art etc… as part of of a UDL approach to teaching.

I truly believe Art is the fuel in the Vehicle of Life and I continue to focus on living and working towards a more equitable and inclusive society, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
