I studied Textiles in the University of Ulster in Belfast in the 1990s. Having completed the crafts council of Ireland 2 year full time business development programme in the Crescent workshop in Kilkenny, I set up a craft and design business in Carlingford, County Louth. I created textile lights, framed pieces and greeting cards and exhibited in Dublin, London and New York.
I now work full time as an Art Teacher. Teaching art reignited my passion for drawing and painting and I have started tentatively producing work again. I travel regularly to London to visit galleries for insight and inspiration.
I am very happy in my job but feel ready to devote more time to my practice as an artist. I feel the network would provide a supportive and positive environment to progress my work and possibly provide opportunities for me to exhibit in the future.
